First things first, ensure that you have an Instagram creator account set up. Users with personal and business accounts won’t be able to access the feature yet, so make sure you’re all set.
Note: If you still can’t find the option to create a Broadcast Channel, the feature might not be available in your region.
Update Your Instagram App
It might sound basic, but it’s crucial. Make sure you’re using the latest version of Instagram. If you’re not up to date, you might miss out on new features, potential music marketing opportunities, and you may not even be able to access the Broadcast Channels feature if your app is outdated.
- Create Your Artist Broadcast Channel
To set up your Broadcast Channel, go to your Instagram profile and tap the “+ Broadcast Channel” option. You’ll then be prompted to choose a name and profile picture for your channel. Keep these consistent with your other social media profiles to maintain a cohesive music brand image and avoid any fan confusion.
- Start Adding Content
Now that you’re set up, it’s time to start sharing your content. Begin with a welcome post to let your fans know you’re active on the platform. Include a mix of content and some exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpses to engage your fans with your channel. We’ll cover some exclusive features of Broadcast Channels in a minute.
- Promote Your Channel
With content posted, it’s time to inform your followers about your new Broadcast Channel. Use posts, stories, and collaborations with other artists across all your socials. Promote your Channel’s invite link on Twitter, TikTok, Reddit, Threads, and, of course, Instagram. Stories are a perfect place to promote your new channel.
